Melisa Tien is a playwright, opera librettist, screenwriter, and producer from California who resides in New York City. She is invested in making socially relevant, emotionally evocative work that helps us imagine splendid alternative futures.
A librettist for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ New Works Collective and for American Opera Projects’ Composers & the Voice program, a grantee of the Asian Cultural Council Individual Fellowship, and a recent alum of New Dramatists, Melisa enjoys languages and the outdoors.
