Melisa Tien is a playwright, lyricist, librettist, and producer from California who resides in New York City. She is invested in making formally unconventional, socially relevant, emotionally evocative work.
A member of New Dramatists, a librettist for the American Opera Project’s Composers & the Voice program, a librettist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ New Works Collective, and a grantee of the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre, Melisa enjoys languages and the outdoors.
